The 30-Day Shield is a safety net window that activates before anyone can inherit your vault. If a release trigger fires—like missed check-ins or a guardian claim—you have a 30-day contestation period (configurable from 14 to 180 days) to cancel it before files are unlocked. During this window, you receive escalating alerts at days 0, 3, 7, 14, 21, and 28.
