What is a Dead Man's Switch?
In physical systems, a dead man's switch is a mechanism designed to be activated or deactivated if the human operator becomes incapacitated. In the context of digital inheritance, our protocol achieves exactly this: it actively monitors your Liveness Pulse through a check-in system. As long as you interact with Inheribase, your vault remains securely sealed.
The Liveness Check-In
You configure exactly how often you want to prove you are active. You can check in daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. Inheribase will gently remind you prior to your deadline. A single click on the dashboard is enough to reset your Liveness Pulse and extend the countdown.
The 30-Day Shield
If the timer strikes zero, your vault does not immediately open. Instead, it enters the 30-Day Shield phase. This is an aggressive notification period where Inheribase will attempt to reach you through every available channel (mandatory emails, optional SMS, push notifications).
This period grants you absolute power to halt an accidental release. Only if the 30-Day Shield expires without your intervention will the protocol assemble the keys and grant your Heirs access to their designated assets.
Zero-Knowledge Automation
Because Inheribase uses a zero-knowledge architecture, we never read your files. We only facilitate the cryptographic transfer of access control when your designated trigger conditions—like a missed check-in followed by an expired 30-Day Shield—are irrevocably met.
